๐Wolhwa Street / Jungang market
Wolhwa Street is a 2.6km walkway built along the abandoned railroad that starts at Gangneung Station and crosses the city. Romantic Wolhwa Street creates a unique atmosphere by combining pretty sculptures, words of support and consolation, fresh street trees, and alley scenery with traces of time. Have lunch with delicious market food at Jungang Market, one of the largest central markets in Gangwon-do.
Gyeongpo lake / Gyeongpo beach
The name of Gyeongpo originated from Gyeongpo Lake, not the sea. Gyeongpo Lake, a large lake that meets before going to Gyeongpo Beach, is surrounded by pure white cherry blossoms in April. More than 1,000 cherry blossom trees are lined up on both sides of the lake road to create a cherry blossom tunnel, so you can walk between cherry blossoms like the main character in the movie. Ride your bike along Gyeongpoho Lake and enjoy the view from benches everywhere.
โ Gangneung coffee street (Anmok street)
There are over 30 cafes lining Gangneung Coffee Street, most with panoramic views of the East Sea through floor to ceiling windows. This 500 metre stretch of caffeinated beachfront is recommended by the KTO as one of the “Top 10 Must-Visit Tourist Spots” in Korea, and it’s definitely worth a visit!
