Goseokjeong Pavilion
Goseokjeong Pavilion, which was designated as a national tourist site in 1977, is one of the nine scenic spots of Cheorwon located in the middle of the Hantangang River. It is the only basalt eruption site in South Korea, making it especially unique as a massive 10-meter rock rises in the center of the river.
Cheorwon 2nd Tunnel
The 2nd Tunnel, which was made by North Koreans to invade South Korea, was discovered on March 24, 1975. This tunnel is 3.5 kilometers long and sits 50~160 meters below the surface. Inside of the tunnel, there is a plaza to gather a large military force. The tunnel is divided into 3 exits. The use of this tunnel would allow for thirty thousand armed forces as well as tanks to pass through per hour. For now, the tunnel is operated as part of Cheorwon Security Tourism Course and many tourists visit this area every year.
Peace Observatory
Cheorwon Peace observatory with three stories and a basement, opened in November 2007. The first floor is an exhibition hall and the second floor is an observatory, allowing tourists to observe the ecosystem, fortress of Gung-Ye Castle town, Pyeonggang tableland, and Seonjeon town of North Korea in the DMZ.
Woljeong-ri Station
This station was a short resting station for an iron train which travelled from Seoul to Wonsan. It is now the northeast station of the Gyeongwon railroad line close to the boundary line in the demilitarized zone. This station is the most famous tourist destination of Choerwon Security Sightseeing.
