๐ Wonju Jungang Market
Wonju Jungang Market opened in the 1950s. There’s a food street with many restaurants for you to enjoy delicious food. Other than that there’s also an art market that opened in 2013. In 2015 it was designated as cultural market. On the second floor you will find Maze Art Market, with pathways that are lined with smile design shops and restaurants. There’s also a flea market held every second week of the months, it’s a must go to.
๐ Bangyeri Ginko Tree
The Ginko biloba tree is known as a “living fossil” as it’s one of the oldest tree species. This specific tree in Bangyeri is estimated to be 800-1,000 years old.Different kind of legends and tales have been told in this village about this tree.One of them is that the villagers believed that the tree was inhabited by a white serpent, so they considered the tree a sacred one that should not be touched, and thought that they would have a good harvest if the tree's leaves turn yellow all at once in autumn.
